Today we do the secret tour of the Doge's Palace; turns out not to be much of a secret as there are about another 30 people who also have heard about the secret.Anyway we get to see the less than humane prison cells, complete with running water (lapping around your knees whenever the tide comes in).
We then wander aimlessly around the rest of the Doge's Palace very solitary apart from the other 15 thousand tourists.

Light lunch at a small osteria,

followed by a gondola ride, complete with singing gondolier and yes the gondola was clean.
We say farewell to Claire who is returning to London-we will really miss her.
